MISS UNDERSTOOD (6) has returned in fine form this campaign. She ran well but was beaten by one better on the day last time out over 1400m at Te Aroha after scoring her maiden win first-up. She has the early speed to cross from a wide draw and can take this out. TOP SHELF (2) resumes after seven months, having finished second in G2 company over 2000m at Te Rapa to close her last prep. She wants more ground but can snatch this fresh up. HAKKINEN (1) was outclassed in the New Zealand Derby over 2400m at Ellerslie six-and-a-half months ago. He is well placed here and will be running on. Watch for him late. ON THE TOWN (5) is first-up since May 31 but started his last campaign strongly, placing over 1300m at this track. He is worth consideration for all multiples. BALLISTIC MISS (14) will be resuming from a brief freshen up, and the market will be the best guide to her chances.
