Home / News / Poker / Koon, Deeb, Berkey headline new season of Big Game On Tour

Poker’s most thrilling televised cash game, PokerStars Big Game on Tour, will return on May 17 with a brand-new set of episodes.

The stellar line-up of players is headlined by PokerStars Ambassador–and number three on the all-time poker money list–the one and only Jason Koon. He’ll be joined by World Series of Poker (WSOP) Player of the Year Shaun Deeb and high-stakes pro and coach Matt Berkey.

But that’s not all.

Joining the pros will be “Suga” Sean O’Malley, an MMA champion and poker enthusiast, and Randy “3Coin” Sadler, a businessman and high-stakes cash game regular.

Rounding out the line-up will be the ‘Loose Cannon’, a player given $50,000 by PokerStars to play the biggest game of their life. If they lose it all, it’s on us. But they get to keep anything they win above that initial stake, so this could be life-changing.

THE NEW LOOSE CANNON

This year’s Loose Cannon is Andy Taylor, an Operations Manager from Canada.

Taylor runs a property maintenance company, but alongside his wife, he also runs a not-for-profit organisation aimed at improving the skillset and mindset of young athletes across Toronto.

Here’s hoping he can win big.

EPISODE SCHEDULE

The teaser for the new Big Game episodes was aired during the live stream of the €100,000 High Rollers Invitational at EPT Monte Carlo, which also featured Big Game player Jason Koon. Koon took home €1,000,000 after topping a field of some of the best in the world (find out what happened here).

The first Big Game episode will air on the PokerStars YouTube channel on Sunday, May 17, with new episodes airing weekly and culminating on June 14.

WHAT IS THE BIG GAME ON TOUR?

The Big Game is a high-stakes cash game TV show that became a firm fan favourite, both for its colourful cast of characters and its unique format.

The show – which debuted on US TV more than a decade ago – sees a casted qualifier (‘The Loose Cannon’) staked to play 150 hands of no limit hold’em against a top line-up of pros, businesspeople and celebrities. The Loose Cannon gets to take home any profit they make over and above their starting stack.
